Come to our launch event at CitiPOP today!

Come to our launch event at CitiPOP today!

I just love being involved with the amazing organization Hands to Heart Center: Yoga for the People here in Boston. We are so jazzed because we have linked with the incredible space at CitiPOP Egelston! Today marks our launch event. Look for HTHC classes and trainings here this summer, including a FREE Saturday class every week in June, and a kids yoga training that I will be leading in July!

Come support HTHC and say hi today between 12 and 3 at our launch event! CitiPOP is pictured above, right on 3193 Washington street in Egelston. I'll be teaching a free yoga class to conclude the event at around 2:45 :)

JPCY 7pm Wednesdays!

OK I admit it. I have a crush on a yoga studio. I have been hanging around for a few years, taking classes and workshops, dragging all of my friends there, nagging the wonderful owner Daniel Max to consider me as a teacher. When I got the email from him a few weeks ago asking me to come on for Wednesdays at 7, I was beyond excited!

2 years of hoping and wishing and working.... I think the work was the key ingredient! Thanks Daniel, for the faith. Come catch me at JP Centre Yoga on Wednesday nights for Fundamentals at 7pm!

Equinox

Today I tossed a mala into Boston Harbor. It was an old broken tigers-eye mala. My teacher told me years ago to drop it into the harbor after it broke. I've carried that thing around in my car for years and have never gotten around to tossing it.

This morning I took a yoga class led by TTs at Radiant Yoga in Southie. I may be a little biased bc I got to teach these trainees, but these gals rocked it! And they were able to drive home the thematic revelation that we are all carrying around something that weighs us down. Something winter-y, cold, dark. Dead.

Man. I am definitely carrying around some stuff. Savasana was like- duh, Shanti. Go toss that mala! After class- since Radiant is so close to the harbor, I went. I drove down the weird industrial roads and parked in a random lot that opened onto the harbor. I clumsily navigated the rocks and wondered what the folks on the passing whale watch boat thought of me. I pulled out the mala and felt it's weight. I looked at its fringe. And I walked down the rocks some more, because I don't have much of an arm.

I believe in magic. But you would have been surprised at how loud that splash was.

Here's to letting go. Happy vernal equinox!

Returning from Prana de Panama....

‪#‎tbt‬ to last week in Panama. This is where we had practice every morning! Next year I will be taking a group and teaching, rather than just chilling and practicing like I did this time (thanks a mil Karma Dawn Yoga)! You will just love the family vibe, glorious atmosphere, and of course- the yoga! Yoga at sunset and under the stars!? It's real. More info coming soon....
